How the age is calculated
The age is counted in the calendar you entered the birth date in. For an Ethiopian birth date, a year is 13 months and the short month of Pagume counts as a full month, so the months and days match how age is counted in Ethiopia. For a Gregorian birth date, the usual 12-month year is used.
The next birthday also stays in the calendar you chose: an Ethiopian birthday falls on the same Ethiopian date every year, which moves around on the Gregorian calendar. A Pagume 6 birthday is celebrated on Pagume 5 in years that have no Pagume 6.
